Welcome to Ms. Edsall's Science website
Welcome Back to School!
I hope everyone had an enjoyable summer but now it's time to shake off the late night tv marathons and get back into the learning mode. One of my goals is to not only help you understand the science course you are in (Earth Science or Oceanography) but to also help you develop an appreciation for the world and planet we live on. I will be upfront and honest with you now, there will be days that the topic we are discussing is dry and maybe uninteresting or you may be wondering why do I need to know this. My answer to you is this: Try and think of high school as the world on training wheels. When you leave Lakeland, there will be times when you boss tells you to do something and you don't want to do it or understand why it needs to be done. At these times, it is often better to just complete the task and move on. In the "real world" not completing tasks your boss has asked of you can get you fired, which is bad when you want to pay for your unlimited internet and text cell phone plan. My main goal is to not only teach you important information about the Earth but also skills you will need once you leave Lakeland. If past years are any indication, there will be bumps along the way, smiles, and tears but if we work hard and stick together we will get through the rough patches. I look forward to meeting you soon and getting to know you during the school year.
Below you will find information such as required materials, contact information, my schedule for the year, and my syllabi.
